“Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.”
That’s the official synopsis of the Denis Villeneuve-directed Blade Runner 2049, and so far, it’s all we know. We’ll no doubt find out more when a full-length trailer is released (hopefully soon). Most importantly, however, Harrison Ford is back, and the film is directed by the guy who made Prisoners, Sicario, & Arrival…so yeah, count me in. Maybe now we’ll finally get a definitive answer to whether or not Deckard is a Replicant, and what happened to Sean Young‘s Rachael.
